Greedo Shot First!

I should have posted this a very long time ago (I should have posted anything a very long time ago).

This is my card from the recent Star Wars Galaxy Series set put out by Topps a couple of months ago.

My idea for the card was to create a scenario where early on in Hans Solo's (ahem) smuggling career he is contracted by two bounty hunters named Bossk & Greedo not knowing that they are seeking to betray Solo to collect a bounty on his head put out by Jabba the Hutt.

Lured by the two to a hidden processing facility to pick up and transport a shipment of illegal gas, Solo is told that his help is required to help rid the facility of some pesky mynocks. As Solo enters the darkened caverns of the underground facility, Bossk and Greedo fall back behind Solo and just as Bossk gives Greedo the signal to shoot Solo in the back a mynock flies out above Solo causing him to duck and barely misses being shot by Greedo. Hence, "Greedo shot first!"...

Well, I'm slowly adding stuff (like it says "Art & Stuff") to my zazzle store. Now if I can sell some "stuff" it'll make it worth all the uploading, designing, uploading, designing.....

Otto "The Toolbox" Wheeler

It's been a really really long time since I last posted anything here. The last half of 2008 and so far 2009 have been really interesting, things like surgery, death (not mine) lots of waiting on just about everything, changes in that waiting, lost touch with a few folks, got behind on a lot of personal projects, blah, blah, blah, blah, and blah....

Anyway, so I do have lots of new things in terms of art coming up, like a new Star Wars card illo for the new Galaxy Series card set Topps is doing, so stay tuned if you're interested.

I'll also be starting another blog related to the car culture and art scene....

In the meantime, here's something I dug up recently that I did for the Road Rats die-cast car line for Jada Toys and the figures they once offered with the line.

I think this guy and the is my favorite out of the batch, which they did but not in this semi realistic styling which looking back, I wish they would have maybe went for, dunno....

Bigfoot VS. the U.S. Government

'Zilla the Skateboard Design

Uh, only hours left to vote (at the time of this posting0 this is my submission for my skateboard deck design contest over here at PopDeck.com. Stealth Monkeys

Here's one for a couple of neighbor kids that live next door, Aldair & Ivan. They know I'm an artist and recently visited the blog hoping to see some new stuff.

It's a trading card from days ago (Okay, not exactly new) when I was delving in the comics biz...

The Stealth Micro-Chip Monkeys (I like to call them the "Stealth Monkeys), Mizaru, Kikazaru & Iwazaro. Futuristic astronauts with enhanced intelligence, robotic suits of armor and of course they fight giant robots, horrendous evil aliens, bio-tech blunders of every sort and a whole array of monsters (It says so on the back of the card)

Well okay, there was a whole set of cards from other artist and we all illustrated our own creations for the set, which were to become comic books.
But some joker ran away with the company's money and I understand split to S. America..

Don't know if anyone ever went after the guy or caught him... Oh well...

Changes

For right now, I'm going to make some changes for myself here on my blog and as soon as I get organized I'll be putting up my art here again and the "Kustom" style stuff up at my other new blog called "Flying Eyeball". In the meantime you can check out my Flickr page to see my art.

New Decals

Here's the second set of decals that are now done. I think the background layout is great. I didn't do it, but if I find out who did I will post that info... Hope you like 'em.

Cloud Guy

This is a magical creature who, if you are good and if he puts in enough effort, can create several stars for you in a snap! Okay, I'm tripping hard here, I'll stop at let you folks do the imaginating. Sorry. Here's another one that's been finished for a while and that I've been too lazy to post... Started as a doodle....

Monster Bird

This was finished a while back, but I have been lazy about posting it. Just a take/parody kinda thing I did for my own amusement which a best friend and great artist Brad McMahon owns.

Day-Glo

The gravity is low, the inhabitants are green and large. This is a cover mock up of a comic idea I had. My idea of having fun with an added logo and lots of Day-glo paint (+ a little photoshop edits)....

Total Coolness

Bounty Hunter

What else would this be but a bounty hunter? This is what I'm working on today. Still haven't finished the previous two.
I still have to come up with a name and an originating planet for this guy.... And yes, he's green.

Ogre

Here's an Ogre, I call it "Stormin' Gorkin". I did the original drawing a few years back along with this guy. I have always wanted to paint this one up so since I had a few days over the Holidays here, I did. Done with pencils and Photoshop.... I am still working on this but like usual was excited to upload so I just couldn't wait.
